Hello World!

Hello, and welcome to my blog! My name is Lauren and I am a wife, mom to one adorable little boy and a kindergarten teacher. On my free time I'm a traveler (mostly to Florida), photographer, and repurposer (of old furniture). This is the first of hopefully many more posts. I created this blog to share my ideas, stories and to connect with other teachers.

I teach in an urban school. My school is in Ohio's third largest district, and is Cincinnati's biggest district, serving 35,000 students. Grades range from preschool to 12th. To find out more about my amazing district click here -->https://www.cps-k12.org/

Although I teach kindergarten this initially is not where I pictured myself. I always thought I wanted to teach 2nd grade "the big kids". My first year out of college I was assigned kindergarten and that is where I stayed. I never imagined kindergarten to be so fun and exciting! I am so lucky that fate helped me out. The knowledge and little personalities that grow, mature and develop in kindergarten are unlike any other grade. It is amazing to have the privilege to be a part of each of these little lives each day.

I have been watching teachers blog about their experiences and amazing ideas. I always had it in the back of my mind "hey, could I do that?", could I make my own blog to connect and share? Well that thought has been stuck there for years and now is the time! I am bursting with potential topics and ideas to share and I'm excited to dive in!
